Our client, a global automotive company is looking to hire a Logistics Officer to take care of all aspects of a logistics team such as shipping, warehousing and procurement are working together to fill orders and deliver materials on a timely basis.They will review all processes and systems and design and implement new plans and procedures as needed. They will be required to:Plan, manage and evaluate logisticsCreate and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performanceDeliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirementsMonitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costsRecommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequencySelect suppliers and monitor service against performance criteriaResolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issuesReview impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to othersSupport continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunitiesEnsure IT systems in place are effective, maintained and accurateEnsure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 1 year of experience working in logistics department of an automotive companyStrong skills of Microsoft Office, especially ExcelStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDegree in logistics or supply chain management is advantageAfrican countries nationals preferred
