We make UAE a safer place by providing secure electronic payment solutions, cyber security systems and communications as well as security systems for Dubai International Airport and air traffic management and navigation systems for Abu Dhabis airport.Roles & Responsibilities:-Provide Systems Engineering contribution as the subject matter expert to the Bids and Project teams in the preparation of technical information and designs.-To define and develop compliant IT & Network - Infrastructure systems solutions based on specifications, standards and customer requirements.-Will be responsible for conducting site surveys, developing conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for complex, integrated IT & Network Infrastructure system solutions and must take into account functionality, interoperability and interfaces both within the system and to external systems.-Preparation of RFPs in accordance with Tender requirements and expected scope of works.-Conduct technical evaluation of offers received and define the preferred choice based on technical and commercial viability.-Assessment of risks and issues that affect the assigned work package.-Manage and implement the design process for IT & Network - Infrastructure systems, infrastructure requirements, providing BoQs, block diagrams and technical description & compliance documentation.-Work on compliance / value engineering /optimization / ROM estimations.-Coordinate with other systems specialists to develop a successful integration of the Network and IT infrastructure with associated system platforms.-Work with cross-functional business units and other systems specialists to understand and develop the technical content aligned to the bid requirements.-Produce design documents to support the detailed costing and specification of equipment.-Prepare and deliver a robust handover of the solution, documentation and bid detail to operational project teams to deliver the solution.-Support the project team in system configuration & FAT/SAT for the IT & Network systems as required.-Conduct technical & maintenance training for the internal/client/end.-Actively participate and share knowledge in the Engineering Referent group community. REQUIREMENTS: Work Experience REQUIREMENTS:-8 years experience in the development of bid design and costings for IT & Network - Infrastructure systems in an integrated systems environment.-Technologies: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, IT Infrastructure, Virtualisation & Cloud infrastructures, Firewalls and other security systems, data protection systems.-Demonstrable experience in bid preparation with the following systems:Experience with the following systems/protocols:-WAN: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSec, SDH-LAN : FHRP, SEP, ERPS, STP, LACP, ARP, Wireless-Firewall: Setup and rule management/migration experience.-Experience in the definition and delivery of IT Equipment (Servers & Workstations) for large-scale projects.-Virtualization (VMWare or Hyper V) experience/exposure.-Experience in design large-scale storage NAS & SAN.-Experience in design cloud computing.-Experience in Telephony, VOIP, PABX configuration.-Experience in Microsoft related technologies: Active Directory, Windows Server, Office365, SQL, and SharePoint.-Experience in Linux and related SQL.Qualification & Educational REQUIREMENTS:-Relevant engineering degree with 8 years experience in the design and implementation of IT/network solutions.-Fluent in English language.-High levels of proficiency and accuracy in the preparation of written technical documentation in English language-Able to present technical solutions fluently within a client-facing environment.-Certification or demonstrable experience in system / enterprise architecture-Certification/Training by manufacturers of Network and communication such as Huawei, CISCO, HP, Juniper & Alcatel.-Certification/Training by manufacturers of IT & platforms such as HP, Microsoft, Linux.-Certification/Training by manufacturers of Storage platforms such as HP, Dell, Huawei, Pivot3.-Certification/Training by manufacturers of Virtualization platforms such as Microsoft (Hyper V) or VM ware.-Certification/Training by manufacturers of Cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft (Azure) or Amazon (AWS).-Certification or demonstrable experience in system / enterprise architecture.-Experience or certification in IT Infrastructure subsystems (network, communication, datacentre, virtualization, software integration, etc.)-Experience of network management, diagnostic and compliance tools.Preferred Skills:-Able to demonstrate a systems requirement management approach.-Able to build strong relationships and coordinate with external contractors and suppliers.-Customer facing skills providing technical information in meetings, demonstrations and presentations.-Clear and concise Technical document writing skills (English language)-Planning and reporting of project and systems design progress.-Ability to work under pressure without direct daily supervision.-Proactively learns new technologies to resolve any problems involved in integrating the new technologies with current systems.At Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
