Job Description

The IT Application Technology & Architecture Manager - PSS is responsible for end-to-end application technical implementation and maintenance of the PSS suite of systems consisting of Reservation System, Departure Control System along with other Software Applications and Data Exchange Layers related to Passenger Systems and Services. The role is also responsible for relationship management with technology partners and 3rd party software vendors, ensuring that their solutions are designed correctly, developed correctly, tested correctly and can scale to meet the growing/changing demands of the flydubai business.Key AccountabilitiesKey Activities-Responsible for managing & shaping the technical, security, & functional enterprise application architecture of systems in the PSS space-Responsible for leading Application Technology and Innovation Planning within PSS environment and feeding this into the overall IT Strategy in conjunction with the Senior Manager - Enterprise Application and the VP IT-Completely manage and guide the following distinct pieces of Software Technology within the EnterpriseEnterprise ArchitectureApplication Design-Lead design and development of strategic, mission critical IT initiatives within PSS space, including Enterprise Service Bus, Business Middleware, SOA based reusable enterprise web service suite, API Gateway, application technical architecture etc-Responsible for identifying, managing and mitigating design and development related risk within application development projects and activities-Responsible for driving application technology innovation through research and recommendation of new systems, products, services and technologies-Ensure all applications and changes to applications fit the organizations technology infrastructure and business strategy-Key Stakeholder in shaping the IT PSS Strategy and Roadmap towards Enterprise Application Architecture, and Enterprise Systems Integration-Provide Application Technical Leadership for organisational endeavours towards selection, acquisition & deployment of new software business solutions-Lead Proof of Concepts and Identification of Emerging Technologies, and ensure best of breed solutions are incorporated into the FZ Application Library-Work alongside the IT PSS Development Project Managers and Infrastructure teams ensuring SDLC activities take place as per plan and to schedule, collect and share appropriate metrics to develop Capability Baselines-Conduct performance appraisals for the technical team and help resources come up with Personal Development Plans that further their career growth and work on their strengths and weaknesses-Responsible for mentoring and guiding team members with the objective of improving productivity and ensuring personal/career growth for the team-Maintain efficient team structure and measure productivity through tools and processes, contributing to the profit margins through efficient work-Responsible for IT Application Disaster recovery planning, implementation and optimisation REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Qualifications / Experience/ Knowledge / SkillsMinimum Qualification- Bachelor of Technology/Engineering (IT qualification)- Active Practitioner of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks: Togaf, Zachmann- Well versed in Middleware Integration Technologies including but not limited to:- IBM- Websphere- TIBCO Enterprise- BizTalk- Oracle Fusion- SOA- Business Process Management (BPM)- Business Process Orchestration- Object Oriented Concepts- Design Patterns- Business Process Modelling- Business Process Orchestration- SOAExperience- 10+ years airline industry experience- 10+ years technical architecture experience- 5+ years of hands-on application development experience- Broad knowledge of software development platforms, languages and technologies- Good knowledge of IATA standards for RES and DCS applications- 7+years of experience on delivery projects for one or more of the following functional areas- Reservations/Eticketing- Departure Control- Data WarehousingCore Competencies- Customer Focus- Team work- Effective Communication- Personal Accountability & Commitment to achieve- Resilience and Flexibility (Can do attitude)- Strategic Thinking- Business Acumen- Inspiring & Developing others- Decision Making
