Job Description

The HVAC Technician operates, maintains, and repairs all HVAC system such as AHU, FCU, Exhausting and Extraction (EF) Systems, and their control systems for the hotel.Hotel Overview:Ideally situated on the Arabian Gulf in Ajman, UAE, the Fairmont Ajman has opened in May 2015. The hotel is in close proximity to both the Sharjah and Dubai airports. The hotel features 252 guestrooms and suites, including two luxurious penthouse offerings, a multitude of dining options and fitness facilities. The beachfront location offers guests a wide range of leisure activities including water sports and diving as well as access to shopping and cultural excursions. Event planners can take advantage of 2,000 square meters of indoor function space as well as outdoor facilities.Summary of Responsibilities:Reporting to the Chief Engineer, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly serviceEnsures all work follows safe work practices and proceduresResponds immediately to all work requests which concern Health and SafetyEnsures environmentally friendly practices are followed when handling chemicals, lubricants, and finishing productsResponds to guest requests promptly in a professional and courteous mannerAssists in maintaining the working condition of the building structure; building operations systems, equipment and controls; technical equipment of other departments; maintenance conditions in guest rooms, public spaces, BOH/service areas, function areas, and officesCompletes all work orders with due diligenceMaintains a daily log book highlighting problems and solutions; and activitiesMaintains equipment catalog and the various systems directoriesActively participates in the monthly departmental meeting by providing feedback and offering suggestions for improvementMaintains health and safety documentation and records for the assigned areaReports and documents potential safety hazardsParticipates as directed in the emergency response team REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications:Previous experience in HVAC and General Maintenance is requiredStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively as part of a teamAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):Constant standing and walking throughout shiftConstant lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsFrequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingFrequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsVisa REQUIREMENTS: Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Ajman.
