Employment: Full Time Cost Engineer MeaPurposeThe Cost Engineer supports the proposal team and is accountable for the complete estimating lifecycle: Request for Quotation (RFQ) to Quote. ResponsibilityThis role coordinates, directs and leads estimating efforts to ensure optimum costing and coordination of projects and programs to ensure team meets customer expectations and manufacturing requirements.ReportsCommercial engineering team (Proposals Team)ResponsibilityThe Costing Engineer is responsible for determining the current/expected material costs of Client supplied equipment to establish the budget during the execution of the project:Work in conjunction with Category Managers, Engineering, and Sales to develop the best cost strategy for ProjectsLead the execution of the cost strategy utilizing quotations, vendor contracts, material costing database (MCDB), cost standards, and historical dataElaboration of RFQs and technical/commercial evaluationHost/Initiate regular sourcing progress review, check pending items, assign action plan to relevant peopleDetermine freight cost to the jobsite from the expected fabrication or ex-works locationDevelop and maintain cost standards to assist in future costingDevelop and maintain files and records of current costs of equipment, products, and componentsDevelop Supply Chain Resource planEvaluate risk and contingencies to be included in proposal material costingReview existing contracts to compare estimated versus actual costsAt project award, communicate to the execution team the costing strategy to be followedAt project completion, complete lessons learned on business plan/GPC/ITO Sourcing Dashboard results REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial or other related engineering fieldMinimum of five years experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating and other areas of project controls in a manufacturing environment.Previous experience in Oil & gas IndustryMinimum of two years experience in the Water industryIntermediate level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programsMandatory to have Knowledge on mechanical fabrication (skids fabrication, pressure vessels, tanks)Knowledge on the concepts of equipments/material certification (3.1, 3.2 certificates)Operating knowledge and experience of AutoCAD, Ms Project (or Primavera), engineering toolsKnowledge and experience in ISO9001,Knowledge and experience in ERP systems, Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, outside agencies, business partners, and consultants Excellent verbal and written communication skills Skills/Key Competencies:Strong communication skills both written and verbal Honesty, integrity and personal accountabilityStrong customer service orientationPositive leadership style and ability to create a high morale manufacturing environmentAutonomous, self starterSuperior planner and organizerHolds self personally accountableDemonstrated achievement orientationWorks effectively and productively with othersEmployee development skillsStrong overall leadership skills/interpersonal skillsAnalytical ThinkingCompetence in handling facility operations
