Chief Accountant

Job Description

Employment: Full Time This is a very exciting start-up company in the fin-tech industry. The new set-up is backed by a well-known e-commerce business. This job can be based in Riyadh or Dubai.Job Responsibilities:Supervise and reconcile accounts payable and receivable most of which is done by the junior accountantsProduce monthly accounting reports & commentaryAnalyze financial information and summarize financial statusSuggest ways to improve efficiency and spendingProvide technical support and advice on all accountingReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.Plan, assign and review their workManage 3 accounting assistants and bookkeepersEnsure compliance with IFRSCashflow forecastingProvide input into departments goal setting processPrepare financial statementsProduce budget according to scheduleAssist with tax audits and tax returnsDirect internal and external audits to ensure complianceSupport year-end close processDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Salary: AED 15,000 to 20,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Accounting, FinanceACCA or ACA qualifiedHigh calibre, perfect English, able to communicate with Senior Management team clearMin 5 years experience at one of the top 4 auditing firms (financial services audit specifically)Ideally 1-2 yrs in industrySolid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Awareness of business trendsExperience of producing financial statementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processHands-on experience with different accounting software packagesAdvanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tablesAccuracy and attention to detailAptitude for numbers and quantitative skillsMust be based in KSA or the UAE and able to join at short notice
