As Banquets Supervisor, the leadership and organizational support you provide to your team will ensure our conventions; meetings and special events are memorable ensuring our guests feel valued.Hotel Overview:Ideally situated on the Arabian Gulf in Ajman, UAE, Fairmont Ajman has opened in May 2015. The hotel close proximity to both Sharjah and Dubai airports. The hotel features 252 guestrooms and suites, including two luxurious penthouse offerings, a multitude of dining options and fitness facilities. The beachfront location offers guests a wide range of leisure activities including water sports and diving as well as access to shopping and cultural excursions. Event planners can take advantage of 2,000 square meters of indoor function space as well as outdoor facilities.Summary of Responsibilities:Reporting to the Assistant Banquets Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceEnsure all Houseman responsibilities and departmental standards are metSet up and dismantle Banquet events, meetings, conferences, etc.Maintain inventory in the Banquet closets; including pick-up and distribution of clean linen, restocking of suppliesRespond timely to guests special requestsCollect dirty linen, garbage and recyclables from meeting rooms and conventionsFollow departmental policies and proceduresReport necessary maintenance itemsFollow all safety and sanitation policiesOther duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications:Previous Hospitality Food and Beverage experience preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervisionPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbsFrequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsVisa REQUIREMENTS: Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Ajman.
