Accounting Manager

Job Description

My client, a leader in their sector, are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead their accounting function, following their acquisition by a major, publicly listed, global business. This position is newly created as part of a significant expansion of their finance team, and will play a crucial role in leading and developing the junior members of staff.Client DetailsMy client is a marine specialist, multinational organisation, who provide services to major global organisations. Their head office is in Sharjah, however they have offices in Abu Dhabi & across the Middle East & Europe.Description* Manage & oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including:* Month and end-year process* Accounts payable/receivable* Cash receipts* General ledger* Payroll and utilities* Treasury, budgeting* Cash forecasting* Revenue and expenditure variance analysis* Capital assets reconciliations* Trust account statement reconciliations,* Check runs* Consolidations* Fixed asset activity* Debt activity* Foreign currency management* Intercompany reconciliations* Monitor & analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements* Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles* Coordinate and complete annual audits* Provide recommendations* Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions* Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy* Meet financial accounting objectives* Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactionsJob OfferIn return, my client can offer a competitive package, including a total cash value of between 22,000 & 27,000 (depending on your level of qualification & experience) as well as family benefits. REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will demonstrate;* Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager* Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases* Ability to manipulate large amounts of data* Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations* High attention to detail and accuracy* Ability to direct and supervise* Bachelors Degree as well as a professional Accounting qualification* Previous experience in a marine logistics / oil and gas / marine survey organisation.
