In turn, Red Sea Farms combines impact with innovation through saltwater and sunlight-based agriculture products, systems, and services that are environmentally and economically sustainable and help support the nutritional needs of water-scarce populations.We?re looking for talented and experienced individuals who have a desire to change the way people think about food and make a positive impact in the world.Work with the rootstock breeding team to accomplish tasks for our R&D greenhouse. These tasks include cross pollinating, grafting, seed cleaning and performing other crop care as needed. This position is part-time. However, there is some potential for a flexible work schedule.Cross pollinating plants; i.e., transferring pollen by hand from male to female flowers. This is a highly detailed task that requires focus and dexterity, but training will be provided.

  • Vine training plants
  • Plant caring, including pruning
  • Growing seedlings from seed
  • Grafting developed rootstocks to test their performance
  • Identifying and labelling plants
  • Inspecting and handling nursery stock
  • Harvesting produce
  • Seed cleaning and storing
  • Keeping thorough notes of the work done
  • Other work assigned by the rootstock breeding team
Qualifications
  • Agricultural experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Positive attitude
  • Works well with others as well as independently.
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Detail-oriented and observant
  • Ability to pair speed with accuracy
  • Legible handwriting is a must
  • Available to work weekend hours
Other Requirements
  • Good writing ability
  • Good condition physically as it is an extremely manual job - Ability to walk on uneven ground and repeatedly bend and crouch etc.
  • Excellent manual dexterity
