This role is responsible for the review of key projects being delivered, development of concept designs in conjunction with the team as required.Main duties

• Manages the setup of all design management systems and documents, ensures technical staff are appointed and roles and responsibilities of each team member is well defined and reporting lines and communications is established. Responsible for successful delivery of the project in accordance with the scope of works from inception to final implementation including quality, time, cost and technical alignment with client sectors and procedures.
• Provide project management and governance of the design team complex and large-scale projects to achieve reliable project performance in terms of commercial outcomes, design solutions, timeliness and quality
• Source, build and maintain strong and effective client, stakeholders and internal team relationships through successful project delivery and targeted activities
• Provide leadership to senior management team, engineering managers, leads and employees on the project to ensure project team technical and staff cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development
• Provide project technical leadership and project management of complex and large-scale project to achieve reliable project performance in terms of commercial outcomes, design solutions, timeliness and quality.

• Demonstrated ability to consistently succeed in a similar role, with typically, 20+ years of relevant hands on experience in delivering master planning & infrastructure projects
• The Design Manager (DM) shall be able to independently lead the team to carry out designs of Wet Utilities distribution systems like potable water, firefighting and irrigation networks.
• The DM shall have basic experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure and gravity utilities, design reports and use of Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / OpenUtilities / SewerCAD / SewerGems or related software.
• Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations within Saudi Arabia. Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as local regulations for the potable water, irrigation and sanitary sewer designs. Shall have experience of liaising with government authorities for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.
• Shall have good experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region
• Professional registration may also be required
• Proven ability to perform in a supervisory capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
• Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
