Technical Specialist - Product Technical OperationsDescriptionTechnical Specialist - Product Technical Operations What you will do Be a domain expert for Pearson products and platformsPrimary duties:

• Working with diverse web-based applications and learning management systems in a production, mission critical environment diagnosing complex user, application and/or systems problems
• Provide solutions to the miss behaviours in complex integrated product platforms in Pearson
• Proceed user data fixes and optimizations for customer requests and application miss behaviours
• Proactively address middleware and applications? environment related problems and fix them
• Coordinate with product teams to prioritize identified application functional issues
• Communicate and triage with various product and platform teams to resolve issues based on severity
• Capacity to seek new opportunities based on business needs and company growth
• Working with external vendors to support systems as required
• Participating in disaster recovery / business continuity planning
• Work on 24x7 shift basis
• Participate in an on-call roster

Provide technical consultancy for developing tools and automationPrimary duties:

• Develop test and deploy issue fixing tools
• Provision environments for internal tools hosting and get them
• Identify and propose new areas of tool development, process automation and process improvements
• Q&A internal tools using automated test suites and synthetic user journeys
• Manage existing operations support tool infrastructure and road map
• Take the ownership in design, documentation and visualization of operations solutions architecture
• Ensure implementations meet design specifications and establish standards
• Maintain operations solutions maintainability , scalability , sustainability And cloud readiness
• Drive processes to on board new platforms
• Reduce complexities and turn around time in it operations
• Train mentor and guide operations engineering team
• Provide well written documents as standard operating procedures

QualificationsWhat you need to have Mandatory requirements

• 5 years experience in Application Support/Operations Support/Technical support domains
• 1 years of playing the Technical Specialist or a similar responsibility
• Well-established experience in working with DevOps, SysAdmin, Networking and DBA teams to solve problems
• Strong analytical skills to solve problems prone daily basis
• Ability to decipher detailed deployment plans
• Ability to effectively multi-task on a variety of daily work assignments in a challenging, fast-paced work environment
• Excellent business communication in English
• Experience with documentation of complex issues, processes, procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to understand and clearly explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently
• Self-motivation to learn and share expertise of new skills and technologies
• Ability to work in Windows and Linux/Unix environment
• Experience scheduling and preparing appropriate resources to participate in deployments
• Capacity to seek new opportunities based on business needs and company growth
• Creative problem solving skills
• Excellent knowledge in Linux and Solaris operating systems
• Understanding on the basics of AWS
• Experience with SQL query and understanding of relational database concepts
• Experience with a scripting language such as perl, python, bash, csh
• Ability to read and understand code in Java/J2EE, PHP, XML,.NET, or PHP
• Experience with web application architecture and distributed applications
• Experience with application-based JMS, Apache, Tomcat
• Experience in deploying and managing web applications using Docker
• Experience in JIRA and version control (SVN,Git)
