Structural Design EngineerLocation: Sharjah, United Arab EmiratesSalary: Market relatedOur client is a major steel fabrication company with facilities in the UAE and Oman.Due to the expansion and new projects secured, we are looking for a Structural Design Engineer / Manager to join the team.The Key Result Areas of the role are:Studying the inputs,˙Preparation of design calculation,˙Verification process of design,˙Quality of work,˙Design Work in progress,˙Construction in progressResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and engage in the design of steel and/or transportation structures for both new construction and rehabilitationPrepare technical/design reports and calculations packagesPrepare construction drawings and specificationsAttend design meetings and site inspections with our clients, sub-consultants, and partners on an as- needed basisInteract and collaborate with the in-house drafters and other engineersDesign various structures and produce contract documents for various building types, retaining walls, foundations, and wastewater treatment plantCommunicate with other departments to ensure all documentation required is contained within the tender submission.Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.Prepare construction budget by study plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each elevation.Evaluate offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.Maintain cost keys and price masters by updating information.Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.Prepare draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tender are includedInterpret & review system drawings to identify any difference to tender requirements and raise queries against specification.Construe and follow company tendering processes and procedures to ensure all aspects of tenders are met including relevant discipline codes and standards.Review the design outputs for compliance with contractual requirement.Gather opinion of the project team and fabrication team on the engineering details to prepare final controlled documents of tenderAssess the impact due to design changes and revision works due to client instructions.Ensure the project output meeting to the requirement of codes and specifications.Would be responsible for the filling of various tenders with all the formalities.<b>?˙</b>RequirementsRequirementsMinimum of 10 years experience as a Structural Engineer in a fabrication environmentBachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program would be an advantageProficient in Revit,˙ AutoCAD, RAM Structural System and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience in Risa 2D, Risa 3D, SAP 2000˙
