Job Description

Requirements and ResponsibilitiesAssists in the development of long-term goals and strategic objectives for an organization. Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity. May be responsible for external corporate communications with industry analysts and the investment community. May also be responsible for recommending strategic alternatives and developing and maintaining operational plans. Requires a bachelors degree. Typically reports to project leader or manager. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience- Elaborate and monitor implementation of the DeG Strategic Planning Framework, including the Strategic Plan, Operating Plans and coordination of the related results-based budget.?- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems as part of the overall DeG Strategic Planning Framework, working closely with the Evaluation Office and the Division of Management and Administration.- Plan, organize and manage the work of the Strategic Planning Office.- Lead the coordination of activities and processes related to strategic planning and result-based management including coordination with the management.- Work closely with the technical offices of DeG divisions and departments, to provide guidance on strategic planning.- Draft documents and reports for constituent body sessions including the Status and the Executive Board.- Undertake studies and analyses of strategic planning approaches of other entities, in particular on result-based management and provide information/guidance to Executive Management on these issues, including analyses of options for possible improvement of DeG in emerging issues of key importance.- Assist in the management of DeG by drafting of Office input into budget documents, human resources management plans as well as drafting of terms of reference and proposals for appointment of consultants as required.- Manage, guide, develop and train staff under her/his supervision. Provide staff members with clear objectives, goals, direction, guidance and appropriate tools to enable them to meet their responsibilities effectively and efficiently.?- Perform other official duties and special assignments which may be requested by the Director.?Education:Higher standard of education (degree level qualification or equivalent) or Master?s degree or equivalent in one or more of the following disciplines: ?business administration, business management, risk management, public administration, or other related fields.??Experience:A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or results-based management preferably in a public organization.?Skills:Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise, negotiate and provide constructive challengeDeveloped research, writing and evaluation skills, including the ability to assimilate a coherent overview from varying sources of informationStrong ICT skills to support and develop work, supported by excellent self-organization and co-ordination skillsBe able to analyze and communicate complex information/issues and present information effectively and comprehensively both verbally and in written reportsKnowledge of project management techniquesAbility to work well under pressure when facing complex workloads?
