POSITION: GeophysicistSALARY: up to 32,000 AED depending on experience and qualifications, plus other benefitsHIRING COMPANY: Oil and Gas companyWORK LOCATION: Sharjah, UAEAVAILABILITY: Can join immediately (max 1 month)EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full time/Permanent?CANDIDATE PROFILE:Open to any nationalityMale, 45 years old and belowOpen to candidates outside UAE?QUALIFICATIONS:Degree in Geology or equivalent qualificationMinimum 10 years of experience in petroleum exploration or development geophysicsPreferably with experience from well known oil and gas companies in UAE/GCCPractical experience in geophysical surveys including seismic acquisition and interpretation of 2D & 3D seismic data, basin evaluation, prospect generation, reservoir characterization and well planningExperienced with with software applications for conducting geophysical interpretation (PETREL/Kingdom) and for data management and cross-project data transfer (OpenWorks/OpenSpirit)Project management skillsStrong IT, numerical and computational skillsObservational, analytical and problem-solving skillsThe ability to learn quickly, work to deadlines and under pressureAttention to detail and the ability to record information accuratelyCommitment to continual learning.?JOB DESCRIPTION:Plan, oversee and interpret 2D and 3D seismic operationsResponsible for producing prospect and lead maps and provide input into prospect risking and ranking leading to drilling recommendationsProvide input to field development planningProvide input for updating SNOC?s reservoir models for its existing fields, including seismic reservoir characterization studies, seismic re-processing including PSDM and special attribute studies, horizon and thickness mapping, seismic sequence stratigraphy and conceptual geological modeling, assisting with well correlations and in the preparation of geological drilling prognoses, generating and updating all relevant maps for reservoir characterization, reservoir management, and for further infield and exploration drilling
