Job Description

Tanja Engineering LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. As a General Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. If you have a strong background in accounting, with a specific focus on the construction field, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for the construction projects, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cost tracking.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management, highlighting key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to track project costs and provide timely financial updates.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices, including job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and percentage of completion.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
