Engineering & Maintenance Support
Lead shift of Mechanical and Electrical Technicians and delegate work functions to them in various areas across MRC.
Plan and organize shift schedules for the timely completion of all maintenance activities.
Inspect all equipment and maintenance processes and evaluate the work of subordinates.
Organize materials and equipment needed to execute the maintenance jobs in order `to meet maintenance objectives.
Ensures that the shift employees are punctual at the workplace and carry out their jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
Track and control overtime worked by staff. Call in suitable technicians to cover emergency work.
Assign suitable technicians to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems or participate himself to get the equipment back in running condition.
Be prepared all the times to meet urgent or contingent requirements of the plant e.g. plant turnaround or shutdown.
Align, implement, and provide technical support to meeting the operational reliability level specified for various units in rolling mill.
Drive the implementation of MRC wide maintenance strategy and apply ?Lessons Learned?.
Supervise and allocate manpower for various maintenance jobs to meet the shift maintenance objectives, in accordance with work instructions.
Ensure actual tools/ equipment and man-hours are in accordance to plan and that routine job planning is updated as required.
Ensure the conditions and procedures specified in the work permit are adhered to and implemented during the execution of work.
Coordinate all work processes with other internal departments of the organization.
Comply with all Maaden EHS policies and the Occupational Health and Safety rules (OH&SA) while conducting maintenance processes.
Manage / assist the maintenance team in case of emergency repairs / critical inspections and ensures documentation of work completed.
Participate or delegate personnel for site inspections and safety, quality, or production investigations.
Ensues engineering data for analysis / evaluation is preserved collected and managed per site procedures.
Ensure that chronic Failure Elimination / Root Cause Analysis (RCA) studies are conducted by assigned engineers in a proper and timely manner, plans, and drive the implementation of corrective tasks to eliminate failures from recurring.
Ensure technical proposals for outsourced maintenance services with clear scope of work for routine or down day / shutdown maintenance activities are developed, reviewed, and approved.
Provide coordination and proper linkage with centralized maintenance department to manage out-sourced services externally needed by operation and maintenance. Support obtaining qualified contactors to execute their required jobs safely, timely in quality manner, in accordance with site and industry standards.
Manage maintenance team in the cold commissioning, hot commissioning and start up activities.
Work with centralized Maintenance Group (DMG) area planners and walks the job in order to develop complete job packages, this includes: job plan (work instruction and required safety documentation), Kit content, required equipment/special tools, required labour, required permits and drawings.
Assist Reliability Engineers in assigning equipment criticality rankings, failure analysis and mitigation strategies.
Ensure the maintenance requirements of maintainable equipment?s in his area have been evaluated and addressed, including needed spare parts ordered and stocked.
Assist in initiating, proposing, and reviewing capex projects to improve roll mill facility / equipment?s availability and follows / supervises approved projects implementation in his assigned area.
Strive in implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Reliability Excellence (REX) in all the shifts.
Support the consolidation of the maintenance budget and forecast process in his area.
Monitor and analyze energy consumption. Implement energy saving activities to reduce energy cost.
Coordinate with interfacing departments for effective and smooth execution of maintenance activities for the critical systems.
Work with Quality Management Dept. for maintaining the required calibration records.
Carry out other duties and task as instructed by the Management.
Leadership, Training & Coaching
Provide the lead role in the implementation of the maintenance work processes in MRC.
Organise job training activities for all subordinates based on competency mapping and skill-gap.
Organize on-the-job training programs to ensure improvement in their quality of work.
Train and provide mentorship of maintenance personnel at the rolling mill ensuring their knowledge and skills are up-to-date and industry maintenance best practices.
Report Generation
Lead and supervise the development, establishment and implementation of maintenance work control / performance monitoring procedures and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ensure maintenance schedules are accurately implemented and maintenance reports / data are correctly entered in eAM.
Ensure that technical maintenance and engineering reports are generated and communicated to concerned staff.
