Job Description

We are looking for Structural steel estimator Cum Contract engineerDuties & ResponsibilitiesEstablishing contacts with prospective and attend Pre-bidding conferences with the clients for any project for fabrication. Prepare a bid file for the inquiry received from client.Interpret plans and prepare materials take-off of materials for bidding purposes (Steel Structures & Civil related works), before due dates. Receipt of inquiry need to be acknowledge by return, and advise bid submission date to client.Studying thoroughly projects specification and drawings to understand scope of work, prior preparation of quotation. Submit pre-qualification documents and provide information's that may required by client.Follow-up on the status of quotation submitted to client. Should AMPO be short listed as a contract by the client, it is the duty of the committee members or manager to negotiate with client for any possible adjustment on the terms and conditions of the contracts including pricing.Upon acquisition of the contract, the committee member or manager should relay all the details to the President. A pre-order entry must be prepared and approved by the President prior to contract signing and/or before the contract periods.Follow-up & Coordinate with purchase department for expediting the arrival of raw materials. Check invoices and tally the prices. Follow-up payment with clients; Monitor and follow-up Shod drawing subcontractors and design detailing sub contractors. Issue variation/change order if there is a modification of work upon approval from the client. Raise technical/commercial quires to client for verification/approval. If required, request for material substitution with client and follow-up if they delays on answering.Simplify shop drawings by avoiding over detailing. Advise draughtsman with clear instruction as to the exact detail requirements.Send shop drawings to client for approval and should not take 2 weeks to be approved, which may affect the delivery program.Client quires to be reply immediately in positive way.Plans and prepares schedules of work based on customer specification & drawings. Report fabrication status to the client and check the production progress report on weekly basis and ensure to meet the delivery date commitment with client. Whenever possible, establish the name of competitors. This will give AMPO a better price regarding pricing trendsKeep in sequence, an up to date file for all activities done Prepare forecasted itemized costing of materials, surface treatment, labor, man-hours and overheads for project subject for bidding.Co-ordinate with Production Personnel to have a feedback for comparison purpose between estimated and actual figures. Receiving contract inquiries and reviewing of commerical, technical terms & conditions from clients and registering.Establish and update approved suppliers network, locally and overseas. Calculation for bid pricing. Incorporate any addendum that might be advised by client during the bid- processing period.Prepare and/or check any calculations, i.e. material take-off, pricing, etc. that may be required by other Dept or Dept-Heads. Check all the drawings and cutting list received from the client, Sub-contract or AMPO before issuing to the shop. Try to standardize materials use & Implement value engineering. Delegate workload according to colleagues & relevant. Prepare and review shop drawings, Hands on experience (Production Work). Review contracts to verify that the contracts is as per bid documents. Review IFC drawings and project specifications and handovered to engineering department. Customer feedback and complains (technical quiry) received are reviewed and resolved. Review and propose changes in detailing connection problem to prevent Ensure the preparation of Sequence of Main Events and documentation of all information and events as a basis for future claims
