The principal function of this position:? The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for the overall technical leadership and management of the electrical teams in Khobar and Yanbu offices.? The Lead Electrical Engineer is to forge and develop a new reputation for quality engineering, innovative and economic electrical solutions for all FAEC Clients, especially the Royal Commission.? The Electrical Lead will also be responsible for preparing quality technical and commercial electrical proposals and for the financial management and performance of all the electrical design elements of the consultancy contracts awarded to FAEC.? The Electrical Lead will be expected to lead his team to work with architects and engineers of other disciplines in a harmonious and professional teamwork relationship. He will interact periodically with other teams and work alongside external foreign based consultants from time to time as required.The priorities of this role include:? Reports and is responsible to the Chief Executive technically, strategically, tactically and commercially for the development and performance of the electrical team across FAEC;? Reports to the Projects Director and designated Project Managers for all day to day project issues;? Leads the electrical engineering team in the preparation of overall concept, detailed design and working drawings, as necessary, for the electrical design of the buildings or engineering structures following the overall architectural concept where appropriate;? Leads, directs and checks the electrical engineering team in the preparation of the electrical models using industry standard software and ensures that the models, load configurations, cable loadings, switchgear, etc and all detailed engineering is appropriate and correct;? Leads the coordination and liaison of the electrical team with all technical disciplines; eg architectural; structural; mechanical; telecom; civil etc to ensure that the electrical design is optimised such that the building services have no clashes with the structure and other utilities or the building envelope;? Responsible for arranging and managing the electrical engineering staffing to ensure satisfactory delivery of the electrical design solutions;? Leads and promotes the continuous improvement of the FAEC Quality Management System in respect of all electrical engineering work;? Organises the preparation of electrical engineering presentations internally and externally as required to develop the work stream for FAEC;? Determines whether Client instructions or requests comply technically with the scope of services utilising all relevant information and documentation;? Ensures requirements of the Client?s project management representatives are adhered to in respect of all technical and contractual aspects including comments and ensures speedy and satisfactory closure by the electrical engineering team;? Provides necessary documentation to enable the Project Manager to discuss anyissues with the Client arising from electrical disputes where necessary;? Ensures all electrical engineering staff satisfactorily and correctly record all time inputs in the appropriate job codes for time capture for budget and commercial monitoring purposes;? Assists the Project Managers in the preparation of Change Notices on the design scope of work where appropriate and necessary.? Monitors performance of individual design packages and advises the Project Managers and Projects Director of the necessary actions to ensure that they meet or exceed the financial targets for the packages.? Assists the Project Managers and Projects Director with debts and major claims for extra fees.? Deals with any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time by the Projects Director.
