HS&W Expert - Earthworks (Neom Site)

Job Description

AtkinsRealis is looking for HS&W Expert - Earthworks (Neom Site), in NEOM KSA.Delivery:

• Drive the implementation of THE LINE HSW strategy ensuring the key focus areas are at the forefront of HSW decisions being made on the project
• Ensure a full understanding of the Project HSW assurance standards, relevant regulations and best practices through continual learning events and information sources
• Working closely with the Construction Contractor to ensure that they plan and deliver their work in line with the Client requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to the Contractors HSW and Operational teams
• Liaise and coach the contractors site supervision and HS&W Officer
• Oversee the preparation of HSW documentation required as part of the HSW management system, carry out reviews and intervention as required ensuring documentation is effective and reviewed continuously.
• Challenge traditional thinking in order to drive improvements in the planning and execution of the HSW arrangements on site
• Support as required any review of tender or prequalification information as part of the procurement process
• Conduct regular site tours, inspections, audits etc. to continually monitor the implementation of the agreed HSW controls and programmes
• Coordinating all HSE matters related to assurance of contractor operations and ensuring necessary HSE deliverables are provided to the required standard at relevant stages during the execution of the work.
• Drive the effective use of the Enablon inspection tools within the Delivery Partner and Contractor
• Conduct or provide support to the Contractor in accident investigation for all serious incidents
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions resulting from investigations and conduct periodic follow-ups.
• Ensure emergency response plans are prepared, implemented and drilled. Take part in drills to assess the Contractors competency and provide further guidance as required
• Lead by example, encouraging a positive safety culture, recognizing those for good practice
• Where persons are found not following safe practices be curious, find out the why and look for solutions to change behavior
• Review and monitor HSE performance on the projects, identifying trends and areas for improvement through use of Enablon
• Provide support to the Contractors in the coordination of safety training courses offered by the Delivery Partner.
• Stops works where critical risks are not effectively management and pose significant risk to persons or property. Conduct root causes analysis as required and identify preventative actions Attend meetings as required, ensuring relevant information is being cascades up and down the project organization
• Identify and escalate key lessons learnt to the Snr HSW Manager for circulation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Thorough knowledge of local HSW legislation pertaining to relevant construction disciplines
• Good technical knowledge of work methods in the construction industry, materials, equipment and tools used
• Good Inspection and interpretation skills
• Good knowledge in HSW documentation
• Experienced in system auditing
• Knowledge in risk assessment preparation
• Review of technical diagrams and contractual documents.
• Have excellent English language skills, excellent IT skills and possess excellent Communication Skills.
• Training delivery and presentation skills.
• Good Interpersonal & Problem Solving Skills.
• Strong people management skills, with ability to build relationships.
