Job Description

Position Description:Saudi Aramco's Power Systems Department is seeking a High Voltage Equipment Engineer. The successful candidate will drive innovation and influence equipment suppliers and contractors to develop and implement improvements to the design, installation, maintenance and reliability of electrical equipment.Minimum Requirements:As the successful candidate you will have:At least ten years of experience in transmission and distribution power systems design, construction, operations and maintenance.Status as a professional or chartered engineer, with a bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.Demonstrated specialist skill level of design and operation of medium and high voltage GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear), AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear), including disconnects and instrument transformers, power transformers, underground and submarine cables and overhead lines.Membership in a reputable international engineering organization.Ability to build and develop effective relationships with internal and external contacts, including good written and verbal communication skills.Strong awareness of resource management, such as system access, safety, contractor and manufacturing capability.Ability to demonstrate how area of specialization was deployed within multidisciplinary teams to satisfy project management requirements, challenges or execution.Effective influencing skills and the ability to apply this capability in a global matrix organization.Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.Fluency in English language (both verbal and written).Duties & Responsibilities:You will be required to perform the following:Review and challenge consultant and contractor designs and implement optimum and cost effective solutions.Promote the introduction of appropriate new technology and techniques associated within area of expertise.Initiate specific research and development projects as appropriate, and evaluate the risks associated with the introduction of new technologies into the power system.Communicate complex issues associated within area of expertise in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and ensure that current & future requirements are clearly addressed and communicated.Support technical consultation meetings with External OEMs, vendors, contractors and service providers of high voltage equipment, regarding operational performance, design compliance and maintainability.Develop asset replacement policies.Review existing and contribute to the development of new standards and technical specifications.Implement compliance with company and other international standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI and BS.Lead and contribute to incident investigation tasks.Represent company on national and international technical committees and as required.
