Req Number: 16632BRPosition Description:We are looking for a Senior Petroleum Geologist to work with the Upstream Professional Development Center (UPDC) to address primarily training needs of all upstream geology discipline including geological related training for other disciplines such as geophysics, petroleum engineering, drilling engineering, and Unconventional Resources.You will work within a team of technical advisors with broad experiences and specialties in Geology to develop and deliver a wide range of professional development programs and courses targeting Saudi Aramco geologists of all experience levels.You will work closely with other technical advisors from other disciplines (Job Families within the UPDC and upstream experts) including geophysicists, reservoir engineers, drilling engineers, petrophysicists, and unconventional resources, in the development of multidisciplinary training programs.Minimum Requirements:As a successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Geology. An MSc and/or PhD degree in Geology is desirable.You must have At least 15 years of industry experience working on geological projects and operations that includes 10 years or more of recent active technical roles.You should have a working knowledge of a wide range of geological disciplines/topics such as exploration (prospect and play generation), reservoir development and characterization, sedimentology and stratigraphy, structural geology, petroleum system analysis and geochemistry. Specialization in few sub disciplines are advantageous.You must have hands-on experience with geological software applications.You must have experience in training delivery, mentoring, coaching, and development of training programs for Geology (GL) in all levels.Duties & Responsibilities:You will be required to perform the following:Enhance the UPDC Geology (GL) curricula for early career, mid-career and senior professionals.Manage content development activities for the GL job family.Contribute to delivery of several GL courses including the upstream on-boarding program and the GL Flagship.Establish a complete development schedule for courses in the GL job family.Ensure technical content of all courses is endorsed by Job Family Technical Advisors.Ensure that all external consultants and Instructors needs for development and delivery are identified and that necessary paperwork is submitted in a timely fashion with adequate prior notice.Utilize UPDC-based instructional designers, graphic artists, and technical writers for building technical content as appropriate.Collect and analyze post-course feedback and ensure it is used to improve content for future offeringsWhen possible, sit in on courses to evaluate course quality and instructor effectiveness, especially courses developed and delivered by external vendors.Innovate, create, and share new approaches in training or technical advancement through local and international forums.
