Position Summary:The Field Site technician ? protected agriculture, supports the plant, soil and water management. The job is a core labs facility support position. Scope of Work: ? Responsible for plant care in greenhouse and net house? Responsible for soil preparation ? Daily inspection of plants in greenhouse and net house and reporting issues, if any including pest and disease problems? Supporting daily tasks on the protected agriculture field site to support the different research programs? Regularly checking and audit all the project work being conducted at the field site greenhouse and net house has proper approvals including safety trainings. ? Assist in field site greenhouse and net house facility consumables and assets, inventory, management and replacement planning? Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee?s knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of his/her position.Competencies Technical Skills: ? Knowledge of soil and plant growth in protected agriculture conditionsNon- Technical Skills: ? Good customer service and interpersonal skills? Positive thinking and willing to accept responsibilities ? Ability to adapt to and shift priorities, and effectively perform under pressure to meet project demands or deliverables
