Cost Engineer / Cost Estimate Engineer?s responsibilities Preparation of detailed cost estimates and quantities survey based on drawings, specification and other technical documentation in relation to the construction of new facilities or works to be performed on existing equipment or facilities. Develop / prepare estimates at each design / build phase (as needed) and develop detailed take-offs and appropriate baseline costs and timeline (schedule) estimates for projects. Evaluation of construction change order and schedule changes. Maintain a cost history tracking system for construction projects. Evaluation of progress of construction projects in order to calculate percentage of completed work and the value of construction work performed as required
