Roles & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:The Calibration and Maintenance Technician is responsible for the calibration, testing, maintenance, and commissioning of a wide range of instruments, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications. The role includes both in-lab and onsite work, involving customer interaction, documentation, troubleshooting, and development of procedures for unfamiliar equipment.Key Responsibilities:Calibrate and test a variety of instruments including but not limited to: pressure gauges, pressure transmitters, tachometers, temperature controllers, thermometers, multimeters, analytical balances, calipers, gas detectors, flow, level and pressure indicating transmitters ? in accordance with established procedures.Perform in-lab and onsite calibration, testing, and functional checks of instruments and control systems.Conduct pre-commissioning, loop checking, and functional testing of instrumentation as required.Accurately collect, measure, record, and summarize data during calibration processes.Identify out-of-tolerance conditions, perform corrective actions such as adjustments or component replacements, and document findings.Research specifications for unknown or unfamiliar equipment and develop accredited calibration procedures accordingly.Act as a customer point of contact for calibration services, addressing inquiries about calibration processes, equipment use, and order status.Perform fabrication and installation of local control panels, cable trays, electrical panels, and conduits.Pull and terminate instrument cables from marshalling cabinets to local panels, ensuring proper connections and compliance with standards.Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of instrumentation and control systems, particularly temperature transmitters and controllers.Desired Candidate ProfileQualifications:Education & Experience:Technical diploma, associate degree, or certification in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or a related field.2+ years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, or maintenance of industrial measurement and control equipment.Technical Skills:Hands-on experience calibrating and testing a wide range of instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level, electrical, and mechanical devices).Knowledge of calibration standards, procedures, and documentation requirements.Ability to interpret technical manuals, datasheets, wiring diagrams, and calibration procedures.Familiarity with loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning processes.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.Other Requirements:Ability to work both in laboratory and field environments.Physical ability to handle equipment and perform installations in industrial settings.Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and procedures.
