JOBSUMMARYSupportsthe developing and implementing an ongoing media and community relations.Provides crisis communications assistance to properties. Ensures information tothe public and community is displayed correctly and effectively with the bestopportunities for providing business. Implements an ongoing, focused media andcommunity relations program.CANDIDATEPROFILEEducation andExperience?2-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Marketing, Business Administration, or related major; 2 yearsexperience in public relations, communications, or related professional area.OR?4-year degree from an accrediteduniversity in Marketing, Business Administration, or related major; noexperience required.COREWORK ACTIVITIESBuilding Brand and PropertyAwareness to Drive Revenue?Works collaboratively with local,regional and national resources to build awareness and increase exposure forthe property and restaurants.?Solicits new media outlets andtravel media individuals.?Selects the best opportunitiesfor the property based on market conditions and property needs.?Uses creative selling abilitiesto obtain maximum exposure through travel journalists and media outlets.?Increases awareness within thetravel media community as well as coordinating events to gain exposures andgrow revenue in the restaurant outlets.?Supportsthe hotel s social media efforts, if applicable.?Works with online media outletsto promote the hotel.?Coordinates offers andinformation for all publications and inserts with regard to brand loyaltyreward mailings.?Develops brochure and propertycollateral materials.?Participates in all propertyimaging work (e.g., signage).?Ensures consistent brand andproperty message is communicated in all public relations and communications efforts.Building Successful Relationships?Builds and strengthensrelationships with existing and new travel writers and local media to ensurefuture exposure. Activities include calls, entertainment, FAM trips, tradeshows, etc.?Develops relationships withincommunity to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities andadditional revenue.?Conducts solicitation andmaintenance calls to media.?Identifies and communicates withdistribution channels that can sell distress inventory to drive propertyoccupancy.?Provides all communications channelswith creative and unique tools to assist in the public relations andcommunications of the property.?Assists property in developingpromotions for various campaigns.Coordinating CommunicationEfforts?Provides accurate, complete andeffective communications to visiting journalists, publicity or promotions.?Evaluates new public relationsopportunities for the property.?Develops strategic publicrelations plan for property, includes group, leisure and local efforts.?Assists in managing individualand group media visits.?Coordinates community serviceactivities in concert with the public image and needs of the resort.?Assists in creative printfulfillment; ensures corporate branding standards and legal compliances are metand incorporated into collateral.?Supportshotel press releases and other content for print media and electronic media.Providing Exceptional CustomerService?Sets a positive example for guestrelations.?Interacts with guests to obtainfeedback on product quality and service levels; effectively responds to andhandles guest problems and complaints.?Observes service behaviors of employeesand provides feedback to individuals and/or managers; continuously strives toimprove service performance.?Conducts site inspections withvisiting journalists.Additional Responsibilities?Keeps detailed files and recordson all matters relative to property's public materials.?Ensures that property isfollowing all corporate public relations guidelines.s.
