Job Description

Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of nursing care, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center.Facilitates and manages the PSCC Magnet Accreditation Program, including the preparation of documents, policies, research activities, and education.Responsible for developing and submitting the required Magnet documents as well as managing the Magnet site visit.Ensures that the site visit conducted by Magnet assessors complies with expectations.Acts as the primary coordinator for communication with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), ensuring that submission of requirements and deadlines are met, working collaboratively with Financial Operations as required.Coordinates submission of annual monitoring reports and all aspects of the designation process.Facilitates the change management processes required to ensure that the organisation and Nursing comply with Magnet Standards and subsequent quality improvement processes.Assesses PSCC Nursing Department?s readiness for the Magnet application, and collaborates with the Director of Nursing and organisation administration in identifying and implementing strategies to meet these gaps.Actively promotes and educates all PSCC departments regarding the five Magnet domains: Transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, new knowledge, innovation and improvement, and empirical outcomes.Promotes and educates nursing regarding the Forces of Magnetism.Generates requested reports and provides analysis of data relative to patient care, safety, financial, regulatory and other database systems as appropriate.Ensures completion of the Demographic Data Collection Tool (DDCT) and manages NDNQI data collection, RN Satisfaction Survey and other quality data as designated to the NDNQI Coordinator.Ensures analysis of nurse sensitive patient satisfaction outcome data; compares unit and organizational performance and pursues ways to improve outcomes.Oversees the Nursing Shared Governance councils.Responsible for the development of education materials and the delivery of education to all Magnet Champions, supporting the development of the Magnet culture.Is a leader, mentor and coach for nurses at all levels in their understanding and practical application of Magnet standards; and a liaison between nursing leadership, inter-professional colleagues and the community.Contributes to strategic initiatives through data management and analysis for driving actionable nursing and organizational outcomes.Acts as a liaison to Administration, Patient Care Services, Physicians and directs staff caregivers with strong consensus building and inter-professional skills.Assists in providing meaningful and measurable gains in quality imperatives and empirical outcomes in partnership with other members of the healthcare team.Contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of the Nursing Department Strategic Plan. Directs Nursing in the achievement of strategic goals.Works effectively as a leader with hospital staff, patients, their families and visitors to provide quality service to hospital units through communication, cooperation and collaboration.Acts as an advocate for patients and families. Identifies initiatives that will improve the quality of patient care and issues that will negatively impact on patient care outcomes, using the professional practice framework and participates through team working and collaborative partnerships in identifying and implementing solutions, through evidence-based practice or research, to demonstrate improvements reflected in unit/organisation data and benchmarks.Maintains working knowledge of current clinical practice standards and models of care, including Joint Commission International (JCI) and Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) standards, as well as other regulatory requirements.
