Job Titleÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ ÿ: Power EngineerJob location (Department/Plant) : Technical SupportReporting toÿ : Operation Manager/ Sr. Technical ManagerJob Summary Power engineers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of industrial equipment such as boilers, steam and gas turbines, generators, gas and diesel internal combustion engines, pumps, condensers, compressors, pressure vessels and related controls. In large industrial or building complexes, they also may be responsible for heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, fire systems and building control systems.Responsibility1 Ensure that safety codes and other applicable regulations are followed.2 Monitor alarms, gauges and other instruments associated with plant operations3 Maintain such communications and relations as are necessary to report on the status of matters requiring action and to ensure that corrective action isÿ undertaken.4 Trouble shoot and take corrective action to prevent equipment or system failures5 Isolate and lock out equipment mechanically and electrically for inspection and repair6 To ensure that equipment and processes operate at maximum efficiency7 Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures8 Supervise, direct and co-ordinate the activities of all personnel assigned to his area.9 To carry out any other duty assigned to him by the management from time to time.10 Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated11 Implement, monitor and report IMS objectives, Targets and programs12 Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of IMS13 Report IMS performance to the management periodically14 Ensure Legal compliance with respect to their scope of activities15 Ensure identification of root cause for the identified non conformances/ deviations and to implement corrective actions/Preventive actions16 Identify the competency gap for their subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions.ÿ17 Carry out annual performance evaluation of reporting employees18 Responsible to ensure the compliance to legal requirements, contractual and organizational requirements19 Provide on-the-job training to new employees and evaluate their OJT Performance20 Identification, documentation and control of hazards in assigned work area20 Identification, documentation and control of hazards in assigned work area21 Ensure aspects identified are monitored and operational controls are followed22 Report deviations in Integrated Management System, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions23 Reporting of emergencies and incidents and near misses24 Effective resource utilization25 Perform other duties as assignedJob SpecificationsEducationalÿ :ÿBachelors engineering degree (B.E) in Electrical/ Mechanical for four-year College or university.ÿMinimumÿ Experience :ÿ4 - 8 years related experience.Preferableÿ :ÿMore than 8 years of related experience and trainingÿWork ConditionWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. In high precarious places he may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or chemicals risk and electrical shock.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but very loud conditions do exist.
