For an upcoming Asian Development Bank (ABD) funded public transport project in Sialkot, Pakistan, CDM Smith is seeking a Team Leader/Senior Urban Planner.The primary objective of this project is to help the residents of Sialkot improve: (i) access toquality public transport; and (ii) provision of a smart parking system. The project will also buildthe capacity of local officials to implement sustainable mobility for the city. This will directlybenefit the 650,000 inhabitants of Sialkot.The Team Leader/Senior Urban Planner is expected to play a fundamental role to: Manage the overall development of the conceptual and detailed designs and plans for the project, including personnel management of the consulting team and project coordination with the local government Provide all required communications and reporting with the client Supervise the production of a Gantt chart that will monitor project progress, and regularly communicate updates with the client Participate in stakeholder consultation with residents, local government officials, and others Contribute with technical inputs to the public transport component Review the two knowledge products for publication Prepare the inception, interim, and final reports for the project.This position is a key, international role on the project team. While this position will be part-time over the anticipated five-month project duration, the candidate will need to work from Sialkot for periods of several weeks at a time during the project assignment and must be agreeable and available to travel.Minimum Qualifications Bachelors Degree in urban planning, civil engineering or similar Minimum of 12 years of experience as sustainable urban planner with major projects in urban development Specific experience with green infrastructure design using innovative technologies to achieve climate change resilience International experience on urban public transport projects in countries outside of home country/country of origin (minimum of three countries/five projects)
