Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for achieving the highest international healthcare standards.Job Role / Responsibilities:You will be responsible to work towards adhering best practices to ensure a hygienic, safe and healthy work environment. Handle waste management and maintain a clean and sanitary hospital environment.Specifically, you will be responsible to;

  • supervising activities of housekeeping to ensure proper cleanliness standards,
  • maintain constant awareness of the cleanliness, maintenance and appearance of the hospital
  • inspect and responsible for hygiene and sanitation of assigned area and ensure they meet standard
  • ensure that the housekeeping staff is working in accordance to the hospital?s rules
  • make sure that all cleaning supplies are appropriately labeled
  • ensure shift management is handled properly and all safety procedures are being taken into account when mixing chemicals and detergents
  • maintenance of safety standards and infection control.
  • arrange for materials used for cleaning from housekeeping store and coordinate project work and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
  • arrange adequate staff coverage to all areas by distributing staff efficiently on daily basis.
  • prepare daily supervisory inspection report and forward it to the Coordinator.
  • provide on the job training to the staff.
  • report maintenance issues to Maintenance/Engineering Department
  • immediately reporting and documenting to management any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • Graduation
  • 4 to 6 years of related work experience at supervisory level
  • knowledge of hygiene and sanitary standards
  • ability to control, discipline and motivate staff
  • knowledge of Housekeeping work procedures and equipment
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work on own initiative etc.
  • ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
  • physically fit ? the role requires continuous movement in assigned area.
