Reporting to the Manager of Solutions Architecture,you will work directly with Customer Success and Support functions to retain and grow DigitalOcean?s largest and fastest growing customers. You will be the technical subject matter expert on DigitalOcean?s portfolio, advising on best practices and guiding customers to the optimal solution to meet their business objectives. You will work closely with other functions within DigitalOcean such as Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure the needs and insights from the local markets are funneled appropriately back into DigitalOceans products and services.This is an amazing growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual to establish and expand our presence within the region. Technical depth, excellent communication skills, and a self-starter mentality are needed.What You Will Be Doing:As a Solutions Architect, you will serve as a technical partner to the success team. You will perform architecture reviews, proof of concepts, demos, uncover customer technical needs, and demonstrate DigitalOceans value proposition. Working with your CSM counterpart, youll help retain business customers and expand their workloads on DigitalOcean.

  • Develop and maintain deep expertise on the DigitalOcean product portfolio and the evolving Cloud landscape.
  • Guide DigitalOceans largest customers through challenging technical blockers.
  • Diagram and plan infrastructure architecture to support specific customer use cases, and comfortably explain that architecture in detail to customers.
  • Conduct regular technical consultation sessions and training workshops for customers, enabling them to become self-sufficient in managing their cloud infrastructure effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement, helping customers make data-driven decisions to optimize their cloud investments.
  • Work directly with Customer Success to ensure expansion and retention of businesses as they build on top of DigitalOcean.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Support teams to ensure customer escalations and obstacles to growth are resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct presentations clearly articulating DigitalOcean product benefits and functionality.
  • Contribute to internal and external technical documentation.
  • Provide technical training to enable DigitalOceans teams and our partners.
  • Communicate customer feedback and trends into the product lifecycle process.
  • Build tooling to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of DigitalOceans technical engagements with customers.
What Well Expect From You:
  • Proven professional experience with cloud infrastructure experience, or equivalent education
  • Deep knowledge of Linux and distributed systems
  • Programming/development experience
    • Basic skills in at least one mainstream programming language
  • Knowledge of provisioning and deployment strategies and tools
  • Passionate about customer experience with a proven track record of developing successful technical solutions for businesses
  • Ability to balance the demands of multiple stakeholders, define priorities and set appropriate expectations
  • Passionate about technology and open source projects
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear and concise terms
  • Quickly learn DigitalOcean systems and adapt to rapid changes
  • Highly motivated with a self-starter mentality
  • Knows the basics in codifying and systematizing in at least one of the following scale automation specialties
    • Infrastructure
    • Containers
    • Security
    • Applications
    • Networks
    • Cloud
  • Basic skills in at least one major cloud platform like AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Azure
  • Ability to:
    • Install and support Docker containers
    • Configure basic networking for applications running in Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with:
    • Git and version control basics
    • Structured Query Language and basic database administration
    • Unit testing, integration testing and system testing best practices
    • Production system migration best practices
    • Popular CI/CD technologies and terminology
    • AI/ML infrastructure principles and terminology
Extra Credit:
  • Cloud certifications are highly desirable (AWS/GCP/Oracle/Azure)
