Senior Research Assistant, Clinical Trials Unit Organization: Aga Khan UniversityLocation: Karachi, PakistanIntroductionThe Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan?s first private university. Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.Responsibilities You will be responsible to:

  • ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research related activities
  • visit different households in communities to ensure successful completion of the data collection in their areas including quality control
  • maintain good working relationship with staff, community members and stake holders
  • identify and enrol patients for the research project according to study protocol
  • interview and follow up with the research study participants and update their schedule of visits according to study protocol
  • willingness to work in the community settings and travel to field sites
  • ability to work affectively in terms and resilience to cope-up with work pressure
  • perform all study-related tasks with ethical and professional conduct while maintaining integrity and confidentiality of the study participants in compliance with the International Standards and good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
  • perform any other study-related task as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements You should have:
  • Diploma in Nursing OR Bachelor?s degree in Social Sciences, Masters will be preferred with 1-2 years of relevant experience in community setting
  • proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work effectively with teams and establish harmonious working relations at the place of work
  • ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • resilience and ability to cope with work pressure
  • willingness to work travel to field site and work in community settings within Karachi.
