Senior Medical Officer, Paediatrics - AKUHEntityAga Khan University HospitalLocationKarachi, PakistanIntroductionThe Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof.   • assess patients and complete required documentation by filling out relevant forms as per the protocols
  • participate in the management of patients under supervision and work with the nursing and paramedic staff as a member of the patient care team
  • ensure that patients are given correct medications and treatment as advised by the primary attending
  • provide appropriate patient and family counseling pertaining to their the healthcare needs
  • actively participate in patient care rounds, ensure good coordination and continuity of care
  • ensure timely assessment and reassessment of patient along with adequate and timely discharge planning
  • continually working towards enhancing competencies in a clinical setting and participate in educational activities
  • remain aware of the clinical practice guidelines, pathways, and protocols practices in the Hospital for application patient care
  • remain aware of the quality and infection control policies and practices and follow the same during clinical practice.
RequirementsYou should have:
  • an˙MBBS degree, preferably with˙MCPS˙or FCPS-I completed
  • a valid license from Pakistan Medical Council (PMC)
  • completed housejob and possess˙at least five years of˙relevant˙experience, preferably completed˙structured residency training˙in Paediatrics
  • ability to˙effectively˙work independently˙as well as˙with teams˙and cope-up with˙pressure on different rotations/shifts
  • excellent˙interpersonal˙skills, particularly˙communication skills
  • willingness to work in shifts.
