Working with a team with hubs in Kenya (for East Africa) and Pakistan (for South Asia) and other locations globally, this position offers a career-elevating opportunity for an aspiring individual. You will preferentially reside in Karachi, Pakistan and oversee BMI?s operations for the South Asian geography, including but not limited to Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. Working with a wide array of internal and external collaborators and stakeholders, you will play a leading role to design and deliver administrative leadership for initiatives of the Pakistan-based BMI office, lead partnerships and projects, undertake financial oversight of local budgets, aid in recruitment and retention of local personnel, as well as management of all local resources.About the Brain & Mind Institute (BMI)The BMI seeks to build capacity in the domains of mental health and neuroscience. In collaboration with partners, the Institute is advancing research leadership capacity and support service delivery across East Africa and South Asia, and other regions served by the AKU. The Institute supports a hub for scholarship exchange and action on mental health issues, as well as educational, clinical, and community-based programs. BMI?s research focuses on the context of today?s youth in Africa and South Asia, while our programmatic offerings address mental health related and brain health issues, including stigma and resiliency. A significant area of interest is the implementation of science-based programing in hospital and community settings that translate new discoveries into prevention and treatment programs.The Senior Manager will be responsible to provide general and strategic administrative, financial, logistic and human resources support to the BMI?s core pillars of activity, namely research, education, innovation/implementation and partnerships.Responsibilities
