Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for achieving the highest international healthcare standards.Job Role / Responsibilities:You will be responsible for the management of technical services and processes that support the core business of the organization by ensuring the most suitable working environment. Leading a diversified team of professionals, the successful candidate will be responsible for overall technical operations and administration of the department. You will generally focus on using best business practices to improve efficiency, identifying cost-effective methods, and resource availability, and establishing an effective working relationship with all constituencies. You will also be responsible to identify and remedy operational concerns while continuously searching for performance improvements in operations and standards.Other responsibilities will include:

  • provide strategic planning support to University management for all technical activities of the facilities that help in the smooth running of overall operations
  • identify the needs of the client groups as well as analyze the internal and external environment
  • develop SMART short and medium-term plans for the department including the resources needed to execute the plan
  • ??????????????contribute in the strategic planning of the department for its services to the Campus
  • ???????implement plans that are developed through various strategiesdevelop and monitor budgets for the departmen
  • ???????planned and breakdown maintenance planning and timely execution as per pre-determined schedule
  • ???????facilitate in designing strategies for dealing with high-risk initiatives
  • ???????facilitate in establishing and monitoring various planning parameters for effective resolution

  • ???????demonstrate good leadership by helping the energy coordinator and contributing savings in energy bills

  • ??????????????analyze and take decisions to resolve complex issues where policies and procedures may not be clearly defined????????analyze the results of monthly indicators and recommend strategies to improve the indicators further
  • ???????ensure compliance with the applicable quality standards of certifying and accrediting bodies
  • play a leading role in the technical and operational issues of the division/department
  • ???????supervise and work with a group of core staff responsible for the smooth functioning of the department to meet the objectives
  • ?????????????????????work with Human Resources for preparing proactive strategies for retaining star performers and other HRM issue
  • ??????????????recruit qualified staff in the division/department to meet the staffing needs
  • ???????develop plans to ensure effective development of staff
  • ???????provide continuous feedback to staff members to keep them informed of their performance??????????????
  • ??????????????ensure optimum utilization of staff and ensure that scheduled work can generally be completed within normal working hours
  • ??????????????serves as a role model, provide leadership and problem-solving support to peers, and direct reports to the customer in a manner that facilitates the building of a strong relationship
  • ???????review issues related to different sections and cross-functional teams and suggest proposal for resolving the conflicts
  • ???????create an environment of empowerment and satisfaction for the whole team.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • Masters / Bachelors degree in engineering or related field preferably in Mechanical or Electrical from a recognized University.
  • minimum of 10 years out of which 5 years in managing the in a mid-sized organization
  • require a fair degree of analytical thinking and working through options by understanding the implications and its impact
  • focused thinking with clearly defined and established procedures and standards
  • think several steps ahead in deciding on best course of action, anticipating likely outcomes. Searches for ideas or solutions that have worked in other environments and applies them to the organization
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to describe complex ideas in clear and meaningful Forms and to present data and information to various audiences
  • good technical knowledge in respect of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Power Plant, Biomedical/Electronics etc
  • successful track-record of managing organizational utilities with a demonstrated credibility? and reputation for delivering value
