Senior Manager, Centre of Excellence for Trauma and EmergenciesEntity: Medical CollegeLocation: KarachiIntroduction: More than half of the total burdens of diseases in low and middle income countries are caused by health emergencies. Trauma is one of the leading causes of disability-adjusted life years in the world, affecting especially young bread earners of low-income families. Similarly, epidemics, wars and other disasters disproportionately impacts the poor and most vulnerable in the world.The primary goal of the Centre of Excellence, Trauma and Emergencies (CoE-TE) is to improve health outcomes of individuals and populations affected by trauma and emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, complex humanitarian crises, disasters due to climate change and large-scale epidemics. The CoE-TE will work with AKDN partners (including the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat), global academic and response institutions, governments, private sector and funding agencies to strengthen day-to-day trauma and emergency systems as well as disaster preparedness and response in low and lower middle income countries, especially those where AKU and AKDN is active.Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to the Director of the Centre, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of strategies and plans to further the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the Centre. He/she will be expected to create systems and processes, manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, monitor finances and manage staff for successful implementation of the research/innovation, capacity building, and policy-related activities of the centre.
