As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact, and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible to ensure timely availability of products by exercising 04-R?s approach (right product, right price, right quality and right time). You will also be responsible to carry-out market surveys, market intelligence studies in order to recommend effective purchasing decisions and resolve day to day supply chain issues.Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• monitoring purchase requisitions and making purchase orders within the stipulated time and ensuring timely delivery of ordered goods on a regular basis
• analysing and evaluating the quotations received by suppliers to make an effective purchasing decision. Preparing Recommendations based on price, quality, delivery, and service
• undertaking market surveys and market intelligence studies to enable/recommend effective purchasing decisions
• engaging in effective negotiations with suppliers for obtaining competitive prices
• meeting with suppliers regularly to strengthen the business relationship; understanding market trends, the introduction of new products and resolving day to day issues
• meeting with end-users to ensure customer satisfaction and resolving their issues and queries
• striving to improve the satisfaction level of internal users/ departments
• striving to improve the turnaround time of purchasing activities
• developing and implementing appropriate sourcing partnership strategies to enable reliable supply chain performance in an adverse environment at a fair price to the Institution
• reviewing and controlling freight cost through informed decision
• ensuring the effective utilization of capital budget within the stipulated time of its release
• rationalizing and optimizing inventory levels by reviewing stock reordering and replenishment processes to achieve turnover
• ensuring that the requirements of participating organizations of Aga Khan Development Network Pakistan Group Purchase Programme are fulfilled in timely and cost-effective manner.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:You should have:

• atleast a Masters degree (16 years of education) preferably in Supply Chain. A diploma / Certifications in Supply Chain will be an added advantage
• atleast 2-3 years of experience in procurement and supply chain fields. Knowledge/ experience of procurement in reputable firm will be preferable
• comprehensive knowledge of building materials
• knowledge of contracts, bidding/ tendering process, industry standards and protocols
• hands on knowledge of working on ERP systems
• expert level knowledge of computer software specifically command over MS Excel
• excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
• excellent communication skills
• the ability to analyse things critically
• negotiation and presentation skills
• the ability to do effective liaison with management, customer and staff.
