Research CoordinatorDepartment Community Health SciencesEntity Research ProjectLocation Karachi, PakistanIntroductionThe Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health, and Non-communicable diseases & mental health.Brick-Kiln Worker Health and Safety study aims to gain a better understanding of the health and safety of brick kiln workers in Pakistan, particularly Sindh province. In this study we will assess brick kiln workers current living and working conditions, experiences as a brick-kiln worker including recruitment and hiring practices, and occupational health and safety.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:

• Collaborate with all stakeholders of the study and facilitate implementation of project.
• Monitoring and evaluation of field activities of the NGO and field staff in implementation of all components of interventions.
• Manage the flow of data from field to the server ensuring completeness and quality
• Facilitate project lead in developing field plan for data collection (baseline, monitoring, and endline)
• Conduct structured interviews as part of baseline, monitoring, and endline assessments
• Facilitate in pre-testing and validation of research instrument.
• Routine monitoring (shadow visits, reliability visits) of data collectors to ensure data quality and provide on-job training to data collectors
• Compile daily progress report and submit it to head office
• Collate and ensure timely submission of data to head office
• Facilitate in organizing meetings with /trainings of health facility staff and other relevant stakeholders
• Participate in trainings organized under the project
• Perform related administrative tasks as and when required.
• Participate in organizing seminars on the study findings under supervision of PI.
• Organize dissemination activities with stakeholders of the study including Ministry of Labor, District vigilance committees and provincial stakeholders.
• Build rapport with brick kiln association of Pakistan and provincial counterparts.
• Write periodic progress and performance report regarding the project
• Coordinate meetings with health facility staff as per need

• Minimum Bachelors in Social Sciences, preferably Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology and Social Work.
• Command over major regional languages (Sindhi is essential, Urdu).
• Sensitive about the brick kiln workers needs and situation assessment
• Good at taking field notes and observations.
• Know how to conduct interviews (in-depth & focus group).
• Basic skills in Microsoft office (especially, power point, word, excel)
• Interact with staff of health facilities, community members and stakeholders without any hesitation
• Demonstrate professionalism and integrity at workplace
