Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for achieving the highest international healthcare standards.The synergy between poverty, socio-cultural, psychosocial and biological risk factors influences neurocognitive outcomes and Psychological outcomes in brain tumor patients. In a LMIC like Pakistan where people are at a disadvantage, integration of formal neuropsychological assessment at critical points in patient care and over the long term is essential as it can improve the sensitivity to such issues. However, there is scarcity of studies which have assessed the neurocognitive functions of patients pre-operatively and at long term follow-up. In the light of literature, the goal of our study is be to assess the neurocognitive and psychological outcomes of adults with brain tumor before treatment and 12 months after treatment from private and public tertiary care hospitals of Karachi, Pakistan. The study sites for this project are Aga Khan University Hospital and Jinnah post graduate Medical Centre.Job Role / Responsibilities:You are required to:

  • identify and Recruit newly diagnosed Brain Tumour Patients from Neurosurgery and Oncology clinics at AKUH & JPMC
  • gather data and program according to the software requirements
  • conduct assessments of the patients by international Neurocognition and psychological assessments tools
  • centrifuge the samples and perform basic molecular analysis
  • perform basic analysis on SPSS software
  • coordinate with multi-centers, government and private sectors
  • write research study manuscripts and submit them in PubMed indexed journals
  • collect and enter data.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:You should have:
  • a Masters in Sciences Subjects from HEC recognised or reputable foreign university/institution
  • at least threeyears of relevant experience in research from a reputable health care institution
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • excellent organisation skills
  • ability to work closely with faculty
  • excellent skills in statistical software (EPI Data, SPSS, End Note, MS. Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint & SharePoint)
  • ability to work in close coordination with other departments
  • ability to work in multidisciplinary team and departments
  • knowledge about research.
