Job Description

Medical Physicist, Radiation OncologyEntity: Aga Khan UniversityLocation: Karachi, Pakistan.Introduction to the Aga Khan University: The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.Job Role / Responsibilities:You are required to:

  • assist in acceptance testing and commissioning of radiotherapy equipment
  • perform periodic calibrations of all radiotherapy equipment and quality assurance tests in accordance with Medical Physics Procedures & Policies
  • perform all tasks related to CT simulation, treatment planning, dose distributions and monitor unit calculations
  • get involved in research, development and teaching under the supervision and mentorship of the Senior and/or Chief Medical Physicist
  • carry out any other tasks as assigned by the Chief Medical Physicist.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:You should have:
  • M.Sc. in Physics/ Medical Physics
  • appropriate credentials as a Medical Physicist acceptable to the department
  • a minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Physicist or its equivalent, preferably in a teaching hospital fully equipped with relevant imaging and radiation therapy modalities
  • good analytical skills
  • proficiency in computer skills
  • good Communication and Interpersonal skills.
