Supports HR management in the development, planning and implementation of labor relations policies and procedures.Builds and maintains a positive relationship with Unions, union officials and other government agencies.Identifies potential labour relations problems, opportunities, issues and evaluates their impacts.Develops plans to address specific issues.Coordinates local level negotiation and/or participates in negotiation of multi-location agreements with unions.Advises HR Business Partners and line management regarding interpretation / application of union contracts and on how to handle specific labour relations problems.Handles grievances and represents & defends the company?s interests in front of legal bodies.Assures compliance with contractual agreements.Maintains informal communication with union leadership on a continuing basis.
