Job Description

EntityAga Khan University HospitalLocationKarachi, PakistanIntroductionYou will be responsible to monitor and manage the energy efficiency of a facility. You will also implement conservation measures, monitor energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and assess business decisions for sustainability and seek out opportunities for increasing energy efficiencyResponsibilitiesSpecifically, you will be responsible to:

  • facilitate core management team, service lines and departments in planning and decision making via data mining/data analysis.
  • build energy modelling to simulate the thermal performance of a building in order to calculate the Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI), Total Energy Use Intensity (TEUI), and Greenhouse Gas Emission Intensity (GHGI) i.e. facilitate energy benchmarking, energy modelling and simulation
  • setup a tone for improvement throughout the campus, ensure energy saving and provide direction for upgrades and milestone
  • ensure integrated mechanism for the continuous monitoring of different programs, including separated energy efficiency measures, the measurement of their impact in terms of energy savings and the verification of the measured impacts
  • prepare a comprehensive employee awareness program and engage staff to reduce energy waste, decrease operating costs and increase competitiveness.
  • help facility to reduce carbon footprint, lower energy and compliance costs and improve the reliability and security of the nations energy system.
  • ensure facility after renovation/ up gradation and after completion of new projects are in line with green standard and existing standard.
  • ensure SGPP generation utilization with least interruption of patient care areas.
  • report to Senior Manager, Tech. Services regarding energy trends, saving and utilities budget.Meets other colleagues to discuss current energy related issues and their mitigation plan.
RequirementsYou must have:
  • B.E. Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical or equivalent from Govt. recognized institute
  • minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • expert level knowledge of HVAC, utility system, Mechanical/electrical and renewable energy
  • excellent analytical skills
  • good communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks/projects
  • ability to lead, use initiative and self-motivated
  • experience in delivering energy audits.
