The AKU-IED library provides a range of resources in print and electronic mediums to support teaching, learning and research activities of the institution. The library also supports students, academicians and researchers of other educational and research institutes.Responsibilities: You will be responsible to:

  • assist library lending services, which include book issue/return/renewal, long-term issuance, course reservation, membership, and fine collection.
  • provide first-hand guidance/assistance to library users in searching and retrieval of library resources
  • shelving and shelf-reading of assigned shelves
  • ensure new arrival shelves are updated every week
  • maintain ?IED Reading Swap? and ?Books you may like? shelves
  • prepare shelf guides and update on shelves
  • for data entry and technical processing of newly acquired resources
  • send new arrivals alerts.
Requirements: You must have:
  • a Bachelor?s qualification, preferably in Library Science or diploma in a related field
  • at least 2 years of work experience in an academic library
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • good computer skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to deal with all kinds of users including students, faculty, and staff.
