  • Mott MacDonald Limited is looking to recruit a dynamic, proactive, and forward thinking, Finance officer with strong experience in the field of Accounting and Audit.
  • The Finance Officer will be responsible for quality support to Pakistan Branch and the users of the FSC within the Group in the areas of Financial Review and Management, Management Reporting, Reviews, Internal Audit and Business Control.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
  • Supporting the Country Accountant & Team Manager ? FSC Pakistan during initial set up of the FSC Function in Pakistan.
  • With major focus on Balance Sheet Reconciliations, providing proactive support to regional teams with month-end routine, reporting packs and periodic analytical processes.
  • Extracting live reports from ERP system to prepare accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations for multiple companies across various territories within the group.
  • Reconciling general ledger and sub ledger accounts to source data and system to ensure that all transactions have been accurately recorded.
  • Reconciling the Inter-company accounts and supporting the local teams in monthly clearance of the balances.
  • Preparing the cash flow forecast and supporting in cash management for various entities within the group.
  • Processing staff expenses and vendor invoices for various entities within the group.
  • Analysing assigned ERP reports to identify unusual trends and patterns, flagging potential problem areas.
  • Providing support to Project Teams (where required) in analysing project data and working capital analysis.
  • Supporting the country and regional finance teams with year-end processes.
  • Supporting relevant stakeholders during peak activity periods such as budgeting and board meetings.
  • Assisting Country Accountants during internal and external audit assignments, organizing financial information, processing audit requests and providing support to follow up with internal and external stakeholders (where required).
  • Providing overseas leave cover for regional finance teams in the UK, Africa and the Middle East
  • Ensuring group policies are consistently applied at country level.
  • Manage AP by processing timely payments to vendors, consultants, tax and other authorities.
  • Support in collating information for preparation of monthly payroll.
  • Financial reporting (FiFi), treasury (including banking, mandates, bonds), and internal controls at country level.
  • Production of annual budgets at country level, and interaction with regional office/Group to monitor actuals against budgets explaining any material variances
  • Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and preparing quarterly BPC statutory packs.
  • Prepare three Months Rolling Cash Forecast monthly and sharing with Country Accountant for review.
  • Assist Country Accountant in monitoring XPK expenditures against the allocated budget.
  • Assist the Country Accountant in liaison with the external auditors, providing relevant information, coordination with UK Finance Team and attending audit meetings.
  • Provide active support in responding to the tax notices received from Federal or Provincial Tax Authorities in close coordination with Country Accountant. Attend tax hearings where required. Maintain and update a tax register for all the notices received.
  • Assist with calculations of quarterly Advance Income Tax and deposit any tax payable.
  • Prepare Branch balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Assist Country Accountant with production of statutory annual financial statements and management accounts for annual tax returns. Provide support in submission of monthly/six-monthly submission of Sales Tax / Income Tax Returns. Coordination of any tax, statutory, and internal audits / assessments.
  • Co-ordinate project and country compliance with Group Directives including insurances, trade licenses and registrations as required.
  • Maintain healthy working relationship with local partners.

  • Relevant professional qualification in accounting and finance
  • Relevant experience in the field of finance, accounting and audit
  • Excellent MS office skills
  • Good levels of spoken and written English
