As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.˙Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to Manager (Technical Support), you will work under the minimal supervision to provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation and support systems used in health care delivery. You will provide assistance in performing technical evaluation of medical devices and follow the processes involved in the Hospital medical technology management program for the management of medical equipment throughout the organization to ensure safe, risk free (to highest possible extent), effective and efficient operations of the medical technology.Specifically, will be responsible to:

  • considerable knowledge of electronic circuitry and ability to technical aspects of the operation, analyse, test, repair, and maintenance of medical equipment
  • substantial knowledge of electronic components and electronic technology
  • performs troubleshooting and repair to include board level component replacement. Conducts tests on digital and analog circuits using various test equipment, i.e. oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital Multimeters, technical databases and electronic schematic diagrams to isolate and troubleshoot printed circuit board malfunctions to the component level. Uses light tools, hand tools and electronic test and repair equipment to repair printed circuit board
  • must work together with the Field Service team to provide pro-active support to the team
  • accept responsibility for your own performance as well as the performance of the maintenance team
  • troubleshoot down to component level on products and printed circuit board assemblies using electronic knowledge, theory, and applicable documentation
  • repairs product to operating specification˙and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • proficiency with analog and digital component technologies
  • familiarity with the safe use of hand-held power and hand tools
  • perform timely preventive maintenance of medical equipment and keep records of data and documentation
  • prepare documentation and maintain records pertaining to all repairs, replacement parts, calibrations, and modifications of equipment under repair / repaired, in computerize maintenance management
  • attend breakdown and calls on medical equipment as assigned by the team leader as per schedule or as when required.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • BE in Electronics with minimum 5 years of work experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment
OR
  • B. Tech in Electronics technology with Minimum 7 years of work experience in the repair at PCB component level
  • considerable knowledge of electronics and ability to technical aspects of the operation, analyze, test, repair, and maintenance of electronic and electromechanical equipment
  • substantial knowledge of basic Anatomy, Physiology, and medical terminologies
  • strong knowledge of electronic circuits and devices (e.g., components, semiconductors, ICs, programable ICs, sensors, motors, solenoids)
  • strong PCB soldering skills, including Surface-Mount Technology (SMT)
  • repairs high complexity assemblies to component level
  • proficient in repair techniques on electronic assemblies/subassemblies in a shop environment involving Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
  • should have the knowledge of network based medical devices and integration (project experience will be preferred)
  • knowledge of computer systems and applications (word. excel, power point)
  • basic knowledge about Health care standard (JCI) and safety requirements
  • project management experience related to medical technology will be (preferred)
