Data Analytical ManagerDepartment: Pathology and Laboratory MedicineOrganization: Aga Khan UniversityIntroductionThe Aga Khan University was found in 1983 as Pakistans first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a unique/distinguish establishment which serves the clinical laboratory of Aga Khan University Hospital with academic interest. This department is heavily engaged in undergraduate, postgraduate and technologist training programs. It provides professional training for higher degree in four major areas of Pathology (Chemical Pathology, Hematology, Histopathology, and Microbiology). Currently, there are approximately 61 Faculty, including 3 part time, 2 visiting faculty members, and 41 Residents.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:

• Extract and assemble large, complex data sets that meets departments functional, analytical and research requirements.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
• Create a clinical data repository to support clinical research and track operational efficiencies.
• Responsible for technical development, implementation, and execution of data analytics projects
• Develop dashboards and visualizations using a mix of Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics etc.) to support client analytics needs
• Collate, clean and analyse complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources and present insights using different visualization tools.
• Organize, lead, coach and motivate data analytics team and continuing to develop agile skills and processes.
• Provide consultation and expertise in building data infrastructure for scalable data analytics projects in healthcare.
• Conduct trainings and workshops for team members and stakeholders in advanced data analytics techniques, including modelling, integration, visualization, text mining, discovery, statistical methods, database design and implementation
• Collaborate with data scientists, clinical leads, researchers and technical teams to ensure smooth running of projects activities within the settings.
• Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to define solution architectures which are robust, efficient, fault-tolerant and meet departments needs.

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
• Experience with Healthcare IT and/or Healthcare Analytics would be an added advantage
• Five years of hands-on experience in data engineering; data analytics industry work experience
• Experience with data management and analytics domains (data management, business intelligence development, advanced analytics, metadata management, Big Data development)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Extract, transform and load processes
• Experience of building and maintaining data infrastructure (including data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes)
• Experience deploying solutions in a modern cloud-based architecture
• Experience of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
• Skills in Python, SAS, or R to ingest, clean, model and visualize data is a plus
• Strong analytics and programming skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Can both lead and be a great team member
