Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will work as a consultative team member. Function as data team member for engagements to support the implementation of Data and Reporting products. Engaging from Proof of Concept (POC) stages through to implementation of complex reporting and analytical systems, you work collaboratively to successfully plan, implement in sandbox and coordinate deployment in the production environment. Expected to be strong in SQL and have the technical depth to roll up your sleeves to work with Hadoop and Hive and imbibe best practices and other solutions as needed. Need strong SQL with work experience on programming Data pipelines in Big data and /or AWS.Responsibilities

  • Data Query, read from files (Extract),
  • Data Manipulation using Spark, Phython
  • Data load and create files either by Pyspark or alteryx. Data set creations
  • Driving automation, improve configuration, tuning, and performance of the existing data pipelines and reports. We currently derive data from Teradata and HDFS, use Alteryx and generate reports on Excel and Tableau.
  • Write and produce technical documentation.
  • Being meticulous about tracking things and follow-through.
Experience and Skills
  • BS or higher in Computer Sciences or related field with 2 plus years of experience
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and programming ETL: Phython, Spark, Pyspark, Alteryx
  • Knowledge of database/data sets/schema design, modelling and development.
  • Experience in Data Centric tasks/programming in Hadoop and AWS
  • Experience in basic visualization using Tableau a plus
  • Experience in some form of programming with knowledge in scheduling ideally Control M/Airflow
  • Good Communication skills with Business Acumen
