Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for achieving the highest international healthcare standards.Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to Assistant Manager / Manager, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), you will be responsible to perform a variety of EHS functions including Risk Assessment and implementation and periodic updating of Safety Management Program and related policies. You will also be responsible to carry out facility inspections/ environment rounds, coordinate with relevant departments/ stakeholders for timely closure of observations and conduct a variety of training and awareness sessions.Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• assisting EHS team in the implementation, monitoring and updating of AKU Safety Management Programme and related policies
• conducting/ participating in Annual Risk Analysis/ Assessment activity
• preparing risk mitigation strategies for safety related observations
• carrying out periodic facility inspections and environmental rounds
• preparing and sharing environmental round reports with relevant stakeholders
• keeping oversight on the activities of the Safety Coordinators/ Fire Marshals, particularly in terms of capacity building on HIRA, level one environment round reports and trainings /awareness
• coordinating with departments / stakeholders for timely completion of corrective/preventive actions / implementation of control measures
• preparing EHS awareness / training material, e-modules, training calendar and EHS/ Safety updates
• conducting a variety of training and awareness sessions on workplace / personal safety, fire safety, hazardous material, waste management, disaster preparedness and ergonomics
• conducting induction/ orientation trainings for new employees
• carrying out incident / accident investigations of safety related incidents
• preparing periodic reports on EHS Activities and Facilities Management & Safety
• acting as a Secretary to the AKU Safety Committee to convene regular meetings, prepare agenda, record meeting minutes and follow up on action items
• coordinating with Radiation Protection Committee and other key areas for effective implementation of EHS Program.
• assisting Manager / Assistant Manager EHS in collection and compilation of monthly progress on EHS Performance Indicators.

• atleast a Bachelor?s Degree in Environmental Sciences / Engineering
• atleast 3 to 5 year?s practical experience of working in the field of EHS
• NEBOSH IGC / ASP qualification
• expertise in ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
• specific EHS Training Certificates will be considered as additional qualification
• knowledge of local / national and international safety standards with particular reference to healthcare
• excellent training delivery skills coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills
• proficiency in MS Office.
