Acumen Pakistan is looking for a Community Associate with minimum 3 years of experience who will be who will be focused on managing the Acumen Academy Foundry, our alumni community of social innovators, and leading on communications for our leadership work in Pakistan. Knowledge of the social sector is required. The role is based in IslamabadAbout AcumenWe are investors. A different kind of investor. They hold values in tension and, in the words of Rilke, they ?live the questions? rather than seek out easy answers. With around 150 Foundry members in Pakistan now ? Acumen?s community of alumni ? we are thinking about the next chapter of our work in the region, which includes continuing to strengthen and grow our flagship program, expand leadership programmatic offerings and support our alumni in their lifelong journey beyond the program year. Essentially, we are now executing on a growth strategy to build the leadership capacity for social change leaders in Pakistan and start scaling up our work.About the RoleThis role will focus on supporting Acumen?s leadership programs in Pakistan and building the depth of our community of the Pakistan Foundry (Fellows and other program alumni) and social innovators across the region. Your day-to-day will range from helping shape the strategy to delivering on the detailed plans. The role is full of autonomy and creativity, and we are looking for a self-starter who has experience building communities. In this role, you will work closely with Pakistan Acumen Academy?s leadership team and Acumen Academys global teams as you understand our work needs and build a range of solutions to help build both reach and depth of impact.Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Community Management
    • Build and manage relationships with Pakistan Foundry to understand their needs and build out support
    • Support the design and delivery of opportunities that connect Pakistan Foundry to each other and with the alumni across other Acumen regions in service of strengthening their work and the community.
    • Support the design and delivery of opportunities that support Pakistan Foundry beyond the program year e.g. access to mentors, experts, training, tools, funding
    • Design and deliver our Pakistan Foundry engagement and communications initiatives e.g. community newsletters, communications, events
    • Support engagement of partners/prospects locally by helping draft reports for funders; writing quarterly partner updates; supporting with presentations for prospective funders
    • Impact Measurement & QA: Design and document all data relevant for evaluating alumni impact, including managing QA and feedback/survey forms; drafting reports
    • Work in collaboration with Acumen Academy?s global community team
  • Marketing and Communications
    • Work closely with the community to collect engaging stories and content pieces that profile the Foundry members in Pakistan and can be shared via newsletters, blogs, emails, social media and digital marketing campaigns
    • Manage and update Pakistan Foundry Database; track members? achievements and collaborations
    • Recruitment Strategy & Execution: Support design and execution of recruitment strategy to recruit Fellows and Accelerator participants, including outreach to the Foundry, peer organizations and digital and social media platforms
    • Work in collaboration with Acumen?s local and global marcomms teams to ensure consistent messaging and visual branding
Qualifications and skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a related field (preferably in education, training, and/or leadership development), and of working in Pakistan
  • Prior work experience in a fast-paced environment, ability to work efficiently against tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with the social entrepreneurs, social intrapreneurs, impact investing or development sectors (preferred)
  • Ability to facilitate sessions towards leadership development
  • Confident using Canva and/or using portions of the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Confident using online communication tools, such as Hubspot, to manage social media
  • Ability to design and execute public events online and in-person
  • Exceptionally organized, great at multitasking, and particularly strong at project management and prioritization
  • Ability to collaborate with several stakeholders and work respectfully with diverse communities
  • A results-oriented self-starter and problem-solver with a ?can-do? attitude
  • Self-awareness, strong communication/interpersonal skills, and empathy
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders
  • Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen values
