Associate, Internal AuditEntity: Aga Khan UniversityLocation: Karachi, Hyderabad etc.Introduction to the Aga Khan University: Chartered in 1983, it is a private, autonomous and self-governing international university with 13 teaching sites in 6 countries distributed across three continents. As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact, and access; and AKU is a model of academic excellence and an agent of social change.Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit Division, you will be responsible for successful completion of assigned audit assignments as per the annual audit plan.Specific responsibilities include:

• executing well-planned audits of assigned areas and activities of the University campuses including cash counts and inventory counts within the allocated time.
• performing audit testing procedures (test of controls, substantive and analytical procedures including data analytics) and drawing conclusions therefrom performing spot checks of the assigned areas from time to time
• discussing and validating audit findings with the auditee and preparing audit report covering relevant observations with constructive recommendations for risk mitigations and process improvements
• identifying missing controls and system/process weaknesses and making recommendations for risk mitigation seeking management action plan on the recommendations for remediation of risks identified
• documenting audit testing results in work papers/templates in line with the professional practices
• maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information pertaining to the organization and exercising utmost integrity and sense of responsibility with respect to handling the information during the course of audit
• regularly following-up with the departments to seek update on the status of recommendation pending implementation
• maintaining an up-to date and orderly filing system for all documents, correspondences, reports and working papers related to the audits
• performing tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor in achieving the department?s goals and objectives as per his/her directions on an on-going basis
• developing a relationship of trust with the stakeholders through ongoing engagement.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:You should have:

• CA /ACCA/ ICMA qualified or part qualified CA / ACCA/ICMA or Masters? Degree from a reputed institution.
• a minimum two years of relevant work experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm
• the ability to use MS Office for report writing, data analysis and making presentations
• good understanding of internal audit processes
• strong interpersonal skills to be able to build excellent working relationship with other departments
• the ability to converse and write effectively in English, including strong report writing skills
• the ability to analyse financial reports and perform data analysis for completeness, integrity and accuracy.
• willingness to travel to outreach locations for the spot visits and carrying out audit procedures, whenever required.
