For more information, please visit: www.aku.edu/iedpk.We are actively looking to engage a professional who would manage and link the Research and Outreach portfolios and be empowered to make informed administrative decisions on the day to day functioning of the office. This position would work across IED and its PDCs for all research and outreach related matters.Responsibilities:You will be responsible tosupport the Heads of Research and Outreach in:

• the development of an infrastructure (planning, monitoring and implementation) to enable and encourage the undertaking of high quality/impact oriented intervention based outreach (activities) and research and publications
• designing a strategy to make lessons learnt from outreach activities and research knowledge (developed by faculty/researchers) accessible and usable for policy makers and practitioners
• liaising with the Central Research and Grants Offices and ensure adherence to policies and procedures for both the research and outreach projects
• organising workshops for faculty and students on topics related to ?the publications process? and ?grant writing? (for both research and outreach)
• independently and with support from faculty and other collaborators should develop grant proposals for research and outreach and coordinate the application of grants
• developing and maintaining an efficient system of record keeping for all matters related to research and outreach
• exploring grant/funding opportunities and create networks with donors, institutions and partners in the development sector
• and working with the relevant faculty and communications unit to support the marketing and publicising of upcoming research and outreach-related events.

Requirements:You should have:

• a Master?s degree preferably in Education/Research-Management or a related field from an HEC recognized or reputable foreign institution
• at least five years of experience in educational/academic administration/research, social sciences or business studies in the higher/education or development sector
• knowledge of grants and research funding opportunities in the country and internationally
• ability to work collaboratively with teams across the University
• able to travel within and outside Pakistan
• demonstrable experience and/or expertise in report and proposal writing and in financial management of research and development grants
• excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Urdu
• good interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude towards work
• and proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of database management and data analysis software (qualitative and quantitative) would be advantageous.
